dining-roomIn 2005 Sarajit Chanda began making his mother Aruna’s curry in the award-winning Fuchsia House Restaurant. It immediately attracted rave reviews.

Ma-aruna-chicken-curryIn 2009 he and his wife/business partner Sarah Nic Lochlainn heard a repeated refrain from their diners. “We cannot afford to eat out so often but we really miss Ma Aruna’s Chicken Curry”.

Ma-aruna-chicken-curryThe pair created an authentic Indian curry sauce for home use, which they began to sell at Farmers Markets.

packaging-smallIn 2010, sales of Aruna’s curry sauce had grown so much that they developed a range simply named “Aruna”. The range consists of 4 sauces: Tikka Masala, Curry, Roganjosh and Madras. In 2010 Aruna Sauces won Gold and Bronze at the Blas na hEireann Awards. In 2011 they won Best New Business and Best Overall Business in Louth County Enterprise Awards.

Ma-aruna-chicken-curryAruna plans to relaunch in a new pack format with a range of 8 authentic curry sauces in January 2012.
